In this video, we’re going to talk about keto rash.

What causes a keto rash?
A keto rash is caused by a vitamin B2 deficiency. B2 is involved in fat metabolism, and the more fat that you eat, the more B2 you are going to need.

If you start the ketogenic diet with a vitamin B2 deficiency or even a subclinical vitamin B2 deficiency, the problems related to the deficiency will be magnified.

Vitamin B2 Deficiency Symptoms:
• Seborrheic dermatitis – rough and scaly skin
• Cracked Skin (on your heels, around your mouth, around your nose)

Subclinical B2 Deficiency Causes:
• Low hydrochloric acid (heartburn, GERD, gas, pain in the stomach when you eat protein)
• Tanning beds
• Refined foods
• Alcohol
• Gut damage
• Liver damage

How to fix keto rash:
• Nutritional yeast
• Activated Vitamin B2 (for severe deficiencies)
