A recent paper from Dr. Gattinoni, a physician on the frontlines in Italy, describes how there may be two different “phenotypes” of COVID-19… and one of them is not amenable to mechanical ventilation. Dr. Seheult discusses the details of how some have compared COVID-19 to high altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE). Embolism risk and anticoagulation with COVID-19 are also discussed.
