COVID-19: Transmission by ACE-2 Receptor || Plasma Therapy || Pandemic By: Dr. Dev

Myself Dr. Devendra Kumar, Assistant Professor (Medical Microbiology), Department of Microbiology, C.C.S. University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India.

This video lecture explains about mainly three points:

1. Transmission of Corona Virus:
Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE-2) is an enzyme attached to the outer surface (cell membranes) of cells in the lungs, arteries, heart, kidney, and intestines. It also regulate the blood pressure of our body. As a trans membrane protein, ACE-2 serves as the main entry point into cells for some corona viruses, including HCoV-NL63, SARS-CoV (the virus that causes SARS), and SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19).

2. Plasma Therapy
Plasma therapy is the way to take antibodies from the recovered corona virus patients and inject it to the recipient patient with ongoing corona virus infection to cure them. This plasma therapy also known as the antibody therapy can save many lives using the recovered patient’s antibody.

3. This lecture also explains about the differences between Endemic, Epidemic and Pandemic in easy way.
