What’s not to love about oranges? They have a beautiful yellow-red-orange-glowing color, are juicy and sweet.
Did you know?
Oranges are originally from China. The peel of oranges and tangerines is actually a Chinese herb.
Oranges, on an energetic level, help to increase energy, fight fatigue, foster creativity and put a smile on your face.
Oranges contain about 10-15 grams of sugar, but are a good source of the Vitamin Complexes C and A. The Vitamin C Complex is crucial for our body’s health:
It helps our body make collagen, which is a protein that heals wounds.
It keeps our blood vessels elastic and intact.
It boosts your immune system and defends your body against germs.
When you are feeling anxious, the Vitamin C complex can help your reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
Did you know that the Vitamin C Complex is not just Ascorbic Acid? The Vitamin C Complex includes enzymes, co-enzymes, antioxidants, trace elements, activators, and many unknowns factors that enable the vitamin to be utilized by our body.
In most vitamin formulations, the Ascorbic Acid is separated from the whole Vitamin C Complex by the use of chemicals or it is synthesized from chemicals and then labeled as Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid). Therefore, for Ascorbic Acid to work, it pulls from the body’s reserves of the other parts of the Vitamin Complex. When these reserves are up, the Ascorbic Acid may create a C deficiencies. So it is important to get vitamins from the source, that means fruits and vegetables or whole-food, high-quality supplements.
Here is one my favorite smoothies. Not only are there the whole Vitamin C and A Complexes, but there is fiber,Vitamin Complexes B & K, calcium, as well as magnesium and potassium. ORANGE JUBILEE SMOOTHIE
