Ramanan Laxminarayan, director, Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics and Policy (CDDEP), a public health advocacy group says “at this rate by the end of the year, we will have achieved herd immunity. This is not a target to set and go after it, it is just that it is hard in a country like India to make infections go away. And when infections don’t go away, it just means it continues to spread.”
