British American Tobacco threatens to take government to court

Government is sticking to its decision on the sale of tobacco. In his weekly letter, President Cyril Ramaphosa said regulations put in place had been carefully considered. This comes on the back of British American Tobacco threatening to take the government to court for its decision. Ramaphosa says there’s been widespread consultation. Last week SARS said it lost R1.5 billion in taxes on cigarettes and alcohol in April.
