What is Herd Immunity? COVID19 | Immunology

We are currently in a race to end the COVID-19 pandemic. While the virus is still evolving, governments around the world are marshaling all of their resources to make sure their populations get immunized as soon as possible. However, not everyone can be immunized for several reasons – they may be too young, too old, or immuno-compromised. So how can we break the chain of transmission and stop the pandemic? That’s where the concept of Herd Immunity comes in. How does it work, and how it can be used effectively to curb COVID-19, I discuss in this video.
