In this video, we’re going to talk about why someone would have excessively dry hair or oily hair. I’m going to share with you my best hair care tips for this situation to promote healthy hair. You can actually use these tips for your skin too.
There is a gland in your skin and scalp called the sebaceous gland. This gland is responsible for releasing an oil which lubricates and protects the surface of your body.
If your hair is too dry:
This may be because of a deficiency in some of the fat-soluble vitamins like:
• Vitamin A
• Vitamin D
• Vitamin E
These vitamins help regulate the sebaceous gland. You may think it couldn’t possibly be because of a lack of vitamins, because you take your vitamins. Well, it may be because you don’t have a gall bladder anymore, you don’t have enough bile, your liver is fatty, or your liver has a problem releasing bile. In this case, you can’t absorb these vitamins, and you end up with a dry hair problem.
Dry hair remedies:
• Vitamin A and D (take high-quality virgin cod liver oil)
• Purified bile salts (if you’re missing your gallbladder or are deficient in bile)
• Vitamin E (from leafy greens)
If you have oily hair, that could be because of:
• Low Zinc
• High insulin (high androgens)
• High DHT
Zinc is involved in so many different chemical reactions in the body. But yet, it’s common for people to be deficient in zinc. If you’re low in zinc, the body starts producing excessive amounts of oil.
A lot of things can create a zinc deficiency. Grains, a history of antibiotics, digestive problems, gastric bypass, alcohol, and low hydrochloric acid can all block the absorption of zinc.
Oily hair hacks:
• If you’re not on healthy keto (ketogenic diet) and are not doing intermittent fasting—you really should be. Cleaning up the diet will help.
• Apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride can increase zinc.
Some foods that are high in zinc are:
• Seafood
• Red meat
• Beef Liver
