If you have sleepless nights during these turbulent days, you are definitely not alone. Experts claim that developing a good immune system is the most effective way to avoid infection with COVID-19. People have also been told to consume immunosuppressive foods to shield themselves from the novel coronavirus. Apart from that, it is also necessary to get enough sleep to build up the immune system.

Researchers claim that sound sleep helps to strengthen the immune cells known as T cells that fight off infection. So, if you’re having trouble sleeping at night, eating these things before bed will make you snooze better.

1. Almonds:

It includes heavy doses of melatonin, a hormone that helps to control the sleeping and waking period. Almonds also contain a large amount of magnesium and calcium, nutrients that can help promote muscle relaxing and sleep. Vitamin E tends to take a back seat to vitamin C when it comes to avoiding and treating colds. But this strong antioxidant is the secret to a healthy immune system. It is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means that the presence of fat must be fully consumed. Nuts, such as almonds, are filled with antioxidants and have good fats.

2. Warm milk:

Holding a warm cup of milk in front of your bed will make you fall asleep comfortably. This is because milk contains sleep-enhancing substances such as tryptophan, calcium, vitamin D, and melatonin.

3. Kiwifruit:

One research showed that people who ate kiwifruits 1 hour before bedtime had better average sleep time and sleep quality. They took less time to fall asleep, too. The fruit includes many sleep-promoting compounds. It is naturally full of a lot of vital nutrients, including folate, potassium, vitamin K and vitamin C. Vitamin C strengthens white blood cells to combat bacteria, while other kiwi nutrients keep the rest of the body functioning properly.

4. Chamomile Tea:

This herb is a popular insomnia treatment. Apigenin, a flavonoid compound present in camomile, is believed to be responsible for its sleep-inducing properties. Get a warm cup of tea before bed to get a good night’s sleep.

5. Walnuts:

Walnuts are most commonly consumed on their own as a snack, but they can also be added to salads, pastas, breakfast cereals, soups and baked goods. This nuts are high in omega-3 fats and have more antioxidants than most other foods. Eating walnuts can enhance brain function and reduce heart disease and cancer Walnuts also contain a few compounds that encourage and control sleep, including melatonin, serotonin and magnesium.
