This is an excerpt from NIDM (National Institute of Disaster Management) webinar conducted on 3/11/20 with my 40 min talk “Fighting COVID-19 India: Self Empowerment & Individual Responsibility for the Collective Good”. I give my recommendations and explanation for the ongoing need for
covid prevention precautions, especially pertinent in the context of India entering winter and the festival season.
Also included is the first part of Prof Bhargava’s (Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research) very worthwhile talk. He makes the very important point that the Indian Govt rejects herd immunity strategies as unscientific. Currently the national avg. seroprevalence in India is 7%. The emphasis in India is on proactively controlling the virus through the 5 T’s (Test, Track, Treat, Trace and use of Technology)
