Hey guys! We have Dr. J and Dr. Evan Brand to walk us through the good and bad sides of fasting and its effects to our immune system.

Fasting can help but, depends on the type of illness. What does it mean? It is common for people to lose their appetite when they are sick and this can be the body’s natural response to the illness. There are various degrees of fasting and a range of approaches. A person may eat only during restricted times (intermittent fasting), consume only broths or juices, or limit calories on certain days. Whether or not a person fasts, it is crucial to stay hydrated during illness and receive the right medical care.

Overall, to support the immune system, it can help to eat healthful foods that are rich in antioxidants and probiotics, and that combat inflammation. Dr. J and Dr. Evan suggests that it’s still best to invest in good diet and prevent illness to happen rather than curing it when it’s there. We look forward to read your comments and questions.
