I’m delighted to be embarking on a new journey as a YouTuber, with my weekly Wellness Wednesdays with Stephanie video blog. In this video series, I am sharing my nuggets of wisdom from my extensive education in Holistic Wellness, Nutrition, Philosophy, Kinesiology, and Spirituality. Over the years, I have enjoyed sharing the knowledge I’ve acquired with friends and family – now I get to share my knowledge and wisdom with the world!
For this week’s episode, I shared some of my knowledge about superfoods and supplements for your health. The superfoods I love include spinach, kale, broccoli, carrots, blueberries, strawberries, onions, garlic, bell peppers, mushrooms of all varieties, raw almonds, pecans, and walnuts, black beans and garbanzo beans, whole grains such as oatmeal, quinoa and amaranth, and raw honey (I know this isn’t vegan, but my younger brother is a beekeeper – more on this later). The supplements I take include Garden of Life Whole Food Multivitamins (Women’s One a Day), Turmeric, Maca Root, Chlorella & Spirulina, and occasionally Senna for better digestion.
My Favorite Banana’s Foster Oatmeal Recipe
1/2 cup Old Fashioned Oats
One Banana
1/2 tsp Powdered Ginger
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1 cup Water
Add one sliced banana to a saucepan, and cook over medium heat for just a couple minutes. Add the spices to taste (I usually add 1/2 tsp of Ginger and 1/4 tsp of Cinnamon), then cook until the banana gets a little squishy and the spices become fragrant. Add the water and bring to a boil. Then add the oats and cook until the water is absorbed, approximately 10-15 minutes. YUM!
