Origin of New Coronaviruses : Where Do Coronaviruses Come from | In Telugu | By Chandu Karthikeyan

Coronavirus is not just COVID-19 that what we are seeing now. They have very long history. They exist even before the Humans. Molecular clock dating analysis of Coronaviruses suggest that the most recent common ancestor of these Viruses existed around 10000 years ago but some believed they are coexist the Bats.
Coronavirus is not a single Virus. Coronaviruses are large family of Viruses. There are more than 40 different types of Coronaviruses identified in Animals, Birds and Humans. But most these Coronaviruses are found in a diverse array of BATS and Bird Species, which are believed to act as natural hosts.

Most of the New Coronaviruses (Novel Coronaviruses) like Severe Accute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), and Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) are thought to have originated in BATS. While other Corona Viruses that are present in House Hold and form animals like Cats, Dogs, Cows, Pigs, Chicken, Horses, Rats, Rabbit, Mouses and Turkey are also originated from BATS and Avian Species.

BATS don’t get rid of the virus and yet don’t get sick. We wanted to Understand why Coronaviruses don’t shutdown the BATS Immune Responses as it does in Humans. The study finds that, Instead of killing bat cells as the virus does with human cells, the Coronaviruses enter a long term relationship with the host maintained by the BATS unique immune system.

The stresses on bats such as wet markes, other diseases, Habitat Loss, and Hibernation may have role in Corona Virus Spill over to other Species. When a bat experiences stress to their Immune System it disrupts this immune System and Virus load balance, then allows Virus to multiply. The bat Coronavirus can persist in their natural bat host for atleast four months of hibernation.

Man is slowly creeping in the forests where normally live. As long as the man and bats interaction increases more and more outbreaks will come. So far EBOLA Virus, Nipah Virus, HENDRA Virus, Malburg Virus outbreaks happened from BATS.
