Today, let’s get to know some crazy cool tips that will help you
improve your immune system. You’ve probably heard some of these but
there’s no harm with the reiteration because remember, health is wealth
and you’d rather save your money for your future expenses than buying
medicines and paying for consultation again and again.

This is Bring Your Best where motivation meets inspiration.

Healthy Tip Number 1 – Let Sunday be the day you plan out your
meals for the week. Do you wanna feel good? Then don’t go to the
grocery without knowing exactly what you need. Come up with a food
plan for the week so that you know what to grab in the grocery store. The
best day to do this chore is on a Sunday. Thirty minutes should be enough
for you to come up with a meal plan or a simple grocery list. Go for
healthy options but don’t forget to give yourself a treat. Did I hear
someone say “pass the Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
please?”

5 Check the ingredients of the products that you are buying and avoid those
GRAS /gras/ additives- generally recognized as safe ingredients. Too
much of these ingredients can have negative effects on our health. The US
Food and Drug Administration does not strike out these ingredients as
unsafe unless proven by scientific studies. Some of these are artificial
food coloring, monosodium glutamate, high fructose, sodium benzoate

and so on. A food plan that’s good for two weeks should be enough. If
you create a plan, you will even have time for research. C’mon, do this for
your body! You can then mix up your meal plan for the coming weeks.
Decide on the core ingredients that you want to include and play around
with recipes. You can even create your own.

I think a simple rule for a healthy diet would be to include go, grow and
glow food, a rule that was taught to us since we were in kindergarten.
Who will ever forget that? What’s another important thing you learned as
early as kindergarten? That’s right, basic stretches in the morning. Which
leads us to healthy tip number two…

Associate exercise with a habit. Think of your body as a machine or a
car. It needs to be revved up every day. It will also need fuel. Food is your
fuel, exercise is your way of burning up that fuel. Non-use can result in
malfunction.

According to experts, we need at least one hundred fifty (150) minutes of
exercise each week. If you are able to associate exercise with a habit, say,
you should exercise first before you can eat dinner, then you’ll be
accustomed to exercising before dinner. You eat dinner every day so if
you do at least thirty (30) minutes each weekday before eating, you will
have completed your one hundred fifty (150) minutes by Friday and you
can rest during the weekend.

Exercising regularly puts your muscles in play and strengthens your
bones. It also helps improve your heart and lung health, making you
stronger and enabling you to bring your best each day. Well, yeah, your
muscles will get sore for the first few days but want to know the secret?
Consistency. Do it every day and you will learn to love it! Did that
technique ever cross your mind? Listen to this next one. I’m sure we can
all relate.

Healthy tip number three- Avoid stressful situations. You may not see it
but stress can take a toll on your body. Stress can cause restlessness,
insomnia, muscle pain, headaches, social withdrawal, even an upset
stomach. Those sleepless nights can result in illness. When you’re
stressed, you will lack focus at work and it may even affect how you relate
with others. What can you do about it? Identify what is the stressor and if
it something you cannot control, let it go. You can do some relaxation

techniques like breathing exercises and meditation. Talking to someone
also helps. When you feel relaxed and you are doing enough self-care,
your mental and physical health are in check…
