Corona Virus which was discovered in Wuhan has spread all over the world including India within a very short period of time and has been declared a pandemic. This virus spreads from a patient to others through the cough or sneeze droplets either directly or through nearby objects. Though 90% of the corona- infected will be cured, it is proving to be fatal in 3-4% of patients.
At Germanten Hospitals, preventive measures are taken to control the spread of Corona. The patients are screened at the entrance itself noting their medical and travel history. Two additional waiting halls are commissioned to maintain physical distancing between patients and staff at all places. The wards are designed to allow circulation of fresh air. The Operation-theaters have Hepa-Filters which restrict movement of bacteria. The doctors and surgeons have been supplied with PPE and full body suits. Patients with exposure to corona are treated in isolated wards.
It is advised to take precautions such as staying home, physical distancing, using face masks while outside, cleaning hands with liquid hand-wash or sanitizers and avoiding touching of face to control the spread of virus. Improving physical immunity through diet containing C-Vitamin and Proteins is recommended.
