Do you know what is Giloy?
Well it recently made news, when an Indian Ayurvedic firm claimed the first coronavirus vaccine, and one of the main ingredients in it was Giloy, however the Government has squashed its claim.
Well, to be honest I didn’t know about this plant until my in-laws started using some Ayurvedic medicines in their daily routine, a year back.
Going one generation up, Ayurveda is something they have always believed in. Us millennials, well, we too are now accepting the many benefits of India’s ancient science. But, what about the generation that follows us? Do they know the value of these innumerable medicinal plants?
It’s time we educate and empower them with this traditional wisdom. Just a starting point is all they need and that’s what the series – Aarna’s locklores attempts to do.
I am no nutrition expert, but I believe that sparking questions in a child’s mind is essential, much more than providing them with all the answers.
