(Pt2) Glutathione: Antibody Synthesis, Antigens, Viruses (COVID -19) & Foreign Bacteria

These results demonstrate that lowering the level of glutathione in the cell compromises the reductive pathway and prevents disulfide bond isomerization from occurring efficiently, highlighting the crucial role played by glutathione in native disulfide bond formation within the mammalian endoplasmic reticulum.

-One B-Cell can have over 15,000 Antibodies attached to it’s cell membrane.
-One Plasma Cell (a type of B-Cell) can secrete up to 2,000 Antibodies per second. They live for Approx. 3 days and have higher number of Endoplasmic Reticulum than other cells to accommodate the high volume of protein (Antibody) synthesis.
-ANTIGENS: Are usually pieces of foreign proteins from viruses or bacteria that bind specifically to an antibody. One change in their Amino Acid sequence can prevent/will them from binding to that Antibody.
