Jacqueline A. Burnes, Ed.D. is the Founder and President of J. Burnes Health Group. In this capacity, Dr. Jacqueline A. Burnes works to promote the prevention of non-infectious diseases through the development and management of cardiac wellness programs at both the community and individual patient level. Dr. Burnes employs scientific methodologies and evidence-based practices to advance research efforts focusing on the prevention of coronary artery disease and associated risk factors. Specifically projects under the directive of Dr. Burnes serve as an expansion of her dissertation research entitled, Multifactorial Prevention Strategies to Reduce the Onset of Coronary Artery Disease. Employing translational research methodologies Dr. Burnes works to determine solutions to reduce metabolic dysfunctions characterized by hypertension, insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance, dyslipidemia, and central adiposity. Patients diagnosed with cardiometabolic diseases​ are two times more likely to die from coronary heart disease and three times more likely to have a heart attack or stroke than those who do not have the syndrome.
