The goal of my video is to describe how the immune system will respond to Sars-Cov-2 – the virus that causes Covid-19. I cover the biology of the immune system, the virus and the damage to the respiratory system that leads to complications with infection. I describe the innate immune response which includes; granulocytes and phagocytes. The video also includes description of the targeted adaptive immune system that helps control particular infections like SARS. I talk about apoptosis/pyroptosis in respect to regulated/accidental cell death after injury to the lungs. The video ends with how the alveolus recovers from a virus like SARS-CoV-2. The video also includes a brief segment on where the virus originated and types of white blood cells.
