Starting a Garden
Fill the beds with a mix of topsoil, compost, and other organic material, such as manure, to give your plants a nutrient-rich environment.

Health Benefits of Gardening
Exposure to vitamin D. Vitamin D increases your calcium levels, which benefits your bones and immune system.

Enjoyable aerobic exercise.

Helps combat loneliness.

It’s not too late to plant a vegetable garden. Gardeners can plant vegetables in July and August for a fall harvest.
