Red Cross Tests all blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies
ST. GEORGE, Utah – (6/17/2020) – The American Red Cross is now testing all blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies. The antibody test will indicate if the donor’s immune system has produced antibodies to coronavirus, regardless of whether they developed symptoms. The test has been authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The COVID positive blood could be used to develop help for future coronavirus patients.
