Coronavirus outbreak: B.C. will amend quarantine restrictions to exempt NHL players | FULL

British Columbia Premier John Horgan announced Wednesday that the province would amend quarantine restrictions to exempt NHL players if Vancouver is chosen as a hub city.

Horgan said under a proposal put forward by the Vancouver Canucks, NHL and health officials, an NHL team would be considered a “family entity,” adding that the team would live and travel together and that there would be no interaction with the public for a 14-day period.

The premier also announced a new strategy for reopening the province’s film and television industry, which he said would include isolation periods for directors, actors, and any other talent coming into the province.

The B.C. government extended the provincial state of emergency on Wednesday until June 23. It is now the longest in the province’s history.
