COVID-19

Dear Coronavirus: Love, The Class of 2020 (Song)

I hope your diploma arrives crease-less!

Original Song by Maggie Grace Webb

Lyrics
Senioritis hit me like a truck,
Then coronavirus hit me like an airplane.
We’ve run flat out of luck
I thought we were already in the fast lane
To

Enjoying our senior weeks
Our senior prom, our senior walks,
Our final concerts, final talks,
With the people who’ve shaped our lives, but

Our graduations are online.
One hat toss is pretty lame in real life.
We spent 12 years in school…
For this?
*sigh*
So, Dear Coronavirus…

Thanks for ruining our senior year.
Thanks for trapping us at home in fear.
This last semester has been pretty weird,
Moment of silence for our senior year.

I never thought I’d miss
The building I spent four solid years at.
It wasn’t exactly “bliss,”
In fact it was really never all that, but

I miss my classmates’ faces,
I miss just going places,
Having some personal space is
Nice but I think I’ve had too much of it!

Virtual meetings aren’t the same.
I have to make my own lunch everyday.
Being quarantined has got me on the fritz.
So dear Coronavirus

Thanks for ruining our senior year.
Thanks for trapping us at home in fear.
This last semester’s been unclear,
Thanks for messing up our senior year

I miss the faces of my friends,
Wish I could go back, make amends
With all the teachers I offend
By never attending the zoom meets.

AP exams are online!
Classes are pass-or-fail!
Is my diploma on the line!?
And worse, will it get folded in the mail?!
Folded in the maillllll

Thanks for ruining our senior year.
Thanks for trapping us at home in fear.
This last semester… could’ve been worse.
