Modelling COVID-19 Infection and Immune Response Using Virtual Tissues (CompuCell3D)

In this brief video Kira Breithaupt walks you through our recently published CompuCell3D model of tissue/immune system response to viral infection (SARS-CoV-2).

For more information on our model see our preprint here:

We are an international team of researchers collaborating in open source model development of SARS-CoV-2 infection in humans. We present here a framework for modeling infections similar to COVID-19 using virtual tissues. We bring forwards some questions regarding the disease and the pandemic that our model may be able to help answer. We also believe our model will be capable of informing clinical trials before they go into human testing phase. We are more than happy to help people run our simulations and integrate their models with ours.
