For nearly a decade, The Texas A&M University System has been preparing to help the nation and world in a moment just like the one we are about to face.
The System stood up a state-of-the-art biotech manufacturing center that can make millions of COVID-19 vaccine doses … and make them in a hurry…once a vaccine candidate is proven effective.
The Center for Innovation in Advanced Development and Manufacturing, (a.k.a. the CIADM) is operated by Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies through a subcontracting arrangement with the Texas A&M System.
Fujifilm’s highly-trained workforce (many of them Aggies) will respond quickly if the federal government turns to the System to produce massive amounts of COVID-19 vaccine.
I discuss the roots and readiness of the CIADM with three key scientists and leaders.
