Key Nutrients in Animal Foods are Crucial for a Healthy Immune System

In this snippet from my podcast (Fundamental Health, available on iTunes, YouTube and everywhere) with Ben Lynch I discuss something that I’ve been thinking throughout the coronavirus pandemic: that in order to have a very healthy and robust immune system we absolutely need the nutrients found primarily in animal foods. Minerals like zinc, copper, manganese, and selenium, as well as b-vitamins like riboflavin, and b12, in addition to amino acids like carnitine, anserine and taurine- all of which are very difficult to obtain from plant foods and are much more bioavailable in animal meat and organs. Want a healthy immune system? Know where your micronutrients are coming from and include significant amounts of animal products, including organ meats in your diet.
