Ireland has implemented a five-phase exit plan to come out of the current Coronavirus restrictions, with phase 5 not being until August 10th. Some things, like festivals and large weddings, may remain restricted even after this date, and the successful exit relies on everyone buying into the rules for each phase. (Spain just went back a phase!) Social Distancing will remain in place even when we have otherwise exited the restrictions, with suggestions that handshakes will be banned in the workplace, for example.
Up until now, we’ve only been permitted to go 2k from our houses, and Alex and I were stopped at a Garda (police) checkpoint on the way to the vet. This restriction will be relaxed to 5k from this week and cocooning elderly people can now go for walks for the first time in 6 weeks.
