Turmeric or Haldi as it is called in India has been around for ages and is used in almost every Indian household. Haldi is what gives Indian curries its yellow color and it is also what we have at night before going to sleep if we have a cold or cough. But the benefits of Haldi is not limited to only cold or cough, Haldi has high antioxidant properties and has been linked to the curing of inflammation, arthritis, Alzheimer’s, and now recently there have been some strong studies that link curcumin to prevention and also maybe the treatment of cancer.

So how is all of this possible what makes haldi such a super commodity? The answer is curcumin. It is the active compound present in turmeric which has all the curing properties.
