Vitamin C has become an essential part of my skin because of the following benefits
1. It slow premature cell death in skin
2. It slows down the production of melanin and cytokines
3. It helps to boost collagen and keep your skin firm and young
4. It helps to strengthen and thicken the skin cell layer if used for six month
5. It helps with antiaging and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
6. It helps with the hyperpigmentation and reduces dark spots and acne scars on the face
It takes 4 easy steps to make your own vitamin c serum at home.
Step1: Take L-ascorbic acid from the ordinary and a moisturizer to mix it with. let me tell you that we can not mix it with any Retinol, Niacinamide, and AHA, BHA based moisturizer.
Don’t worry! you got plenty of other options. You can mix it with a simple moisturizer. I personally use Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer. You can also mix it with ferulic acid or any skin oil such as Rosehip seed oil from The ordinary.
let’s start making vitamin C serum from the L-ascorbic acid powder.
This L-ascorbic acid powder jar comes with a tiny spoon as you can see in the picture. The ordinary itself suggests using one spoon of L-ascorbic acid powder and mixing it with your moisturizer or oil.
But I suggest using the back of the spoon for taking the powder in the beginning as it will take less powder the spoon itself.
Step 2: Mix the powder with one pump of moisturizer.
Step 3: Now mix both of them that it starts looking like one thing.
Step 4: High five, Your vitamin C serum is ready to apply on your face.
You can use vitamin C serum both day and night. dermatologist suggest to include it slowly in skincare. You can start using on alternate days and only one time in a day till your skin build the capacity to handle it.
