How UC Riverside Highlanders are helping relief efforts for COVID-19

As Highlanders do, the UC Riverside community has rallied to answer the call of those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic at home and around the world. In this video, we highlight some of these efforts by the UC Riverside community to help those in need.

UC Riverside students, faculty, staff, and alumni have found creative ways to make a difference where it’s needed most during COVID-19. From groundbreaking research addressing the pandemic to costume fabric donations for face coverings, the UC Riverside community has acted fast in the first two months of the campus closure to answer the call.

(00:11) – Medical students donated more than 30,000 masks to Inland hospitals.
(00:16) – Costume shop employees made 170 face coverings for essential employees.
(00:49) – The extension center is housing doctors and health care workers to keep their families safe.
(00:55) – Freshman Ervin Young is building computers for high school students without access to proper technology.
