JFHC Nutrition Day 2012: Dr Benjamin Jacobs – Vitamin D – the debate

Building on the Journal’s expertise and reputation in the field of nutrition the JFHC Nutrition Day 2012 featured seminars from leading family nutrition experts on topics including:
• Vitamins and supplementation
• Managing weight in pregnancy
• Eating disorders
• Nutrition in schools
The JFHC Nutrition Day aimed to build on the legacy of eating well with an exciting list of speakers and topics of interest to everyone working in community healthcare, particularly Health Visitors and Midwives. This CPD-accredited event was designed to keep professionals abreast of new thinking and developments. It looked at the implications of current policies and trends, the key role of nutrition in public health, and explored examples of good practice in maternity and with children and young people. Through plenary discussions and workshops sessions, delegates were encouraged to share their own experience as well as benefitting from the insight and expertise of our expert speakers, with plenty of practical take-away tools and learning points.
