Y’all! Welcome back to another Why it Works Wednesday video! I wanted to talk with you guys all about turmeric powder otherwise known as the best Ayurvedic spice ever! It has been around for centuries and definitely has been living up to its name. Now we know in the natural hair community or hair growth world things tend to get super trendy and everyone just hops on it without reason but I like to always do my research. We all love a good bandwagon moment but I like to have research to back it up so that I know exactly what I am getting myself into. Turmeric is said to rapidly increase your hair growth and is gentle enough to be used both topically and internally. I personally have not tried any of the hair masks that I see on youtube but I sure do love to use turmeric internally! If you know anything about Ayurvedic medicine or medicinal herbs you will know that turmeric is at the top of the list and has been used for thousands of years for a multitude of ailments. There have been studies done which shows that turmeric contains the same ingredients as a synthetic drug that is used to cure alopecia—so why not use the natural turmeric instead of synthetic drugs!
In this video, I share with you what research says about turmeric and what studies have been conducted to support why it would work for hair growth considering turmeric is typically used for so many other medical ailments! I go into details about the brand of turmeric that I am using, the different ways you can use it and what is recommended when it comes to how you should be ingesting it!
