Protesters gathered outside the Idaho State Capitol in Boise on Friday in order to protest after Idaho Governor Brad Little extended his COVID-19 stay-at-home order.

Under Little’s order Idahoans are only allowed to leave the home for essential activities and work, with social gatherings and protests being banned, with the measures set to expire on April 30.

Demonstrators at the protest held signs condemning the restrictions and declaring that “all jobs are essential.”

One man said he’d been forced to close his three businesses, and stated that “We are losing our constitutional rights, and we are falling under a dictatorship, and that is not correct.”

Another woman complained that she shouldn’t have to educate her children “while their teachers sit at home, getting the paycheque that should be forwarded to me.”

Similar protests have been taking case in states throughout the US, with President Donald Trump also lending his support for the movements via Twitter, as well as calling participants “very responsible people” at a White House coronavirus task force briefing.

Since the start of the outbreak, the US has recorded over 709,000 COVID-19 cases, with over 37,000 people dying with the virus.
