How is Sweden trying to acquire herd immunity to combat covid-19 pandemic ?

A large part of the world has locked itself down to protect itself from the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). But Sweden didn’t.
Now, its ambassador to the US has claimed Stockholm may acquire herd immunity by May.
30% of the Swedish capital is already immune, claimed Ambassador Karin Ulrika Olofsdotter.

Herd immunity can come in two ways:
a) Vaccination — not available yet
b) 70%+ population are infected and build natural immunity…

Once, most people gain immunity, the disease becomes less contagious, number of carriers plummet
The Nordic country has taken this route instead of a harsh lockdown. It continued with normal life while protecting high-risk groups:
Senior citizens, and People with co-morbidity
The model has also been criticised for a mortality rate higher than neighbours that locked down
