Do You Need More Vitamin D?



If you live in Canada or northern US, you should be taking a vitamin D supplement in late fall and winter months. That’s because the sun’s rays aren’t strong enough during this time of year.

While fatty fish like salmon and sardines have some vitamin D, it’s no where near the recommended 1000 IU daily your body needs—so you may want to opt for a supplement instead. —Joanna Stochla, Medcan registered dietitian
