Hey everyone, welcome back. It’s your guru for all things psoriasis. Today I want to talk about how deficiencies in vitamin B12, folate, copper and vitamin A can affect psoriasis. This is a follow up to the previous video where we talked about the five most common nutrient deficiencies in psoriasis.

First, let’s talk about vitamin B12. This vitamin is crucial for for maintaining healthy skin and immune support among many, many other jobs in the body and is often found to be low in people who have psoriasis. Low levels of B12 can lead to anemia, which can make psoriasis symptoms worse as well.

It’s important to make sure we’re getting enough B12 through foods like meat, fish and eggs, or through supplements when needed. Next, let’s talk about folate. Folate, also known as vitamin B9, is important for cell growth and repair and some people with psoriasis have been

Found to have lower levels of folate in their blood. A deficiency in folate can make psoriasis symptoms worse and can lead to other health problems like anemia as well. Folate can be found in leafy greens and other vegetables and fruit. Next is copper. That’s an essential mineral that helps

In collagen production, which is important for healthy skin. Because collagen is like our scaffolding, our framework of our skin. Copper deficiency can make psoriasis symptoms worse, can lead to other health issues as well. And you can find copper in foods like nuts, seeds and legumes, which are like in the bean family.

Lastly, let’s talk about vitamin A. Vitamin A is essential for maintaining healthy skin and people with psoriasis often do have low levels of vitamin A. Vitamin A deficiency can make the symptoms worse, but can also lead to other health issues as well.

Vitamin A can be found in foods like sweet potatoes, carrots and leafy greens. It’s important to note that while these deficiencies can make symptoms of psoriasis worse, it’s not the root cause of psoriasis. However, maintaining a balanced diet with a variety of foods and proper

Supplements when needed can help support the skin, the body and improve symptoms. It’s always best to consult with your healthcare professional before making any changes to your diet or supplement routine, especially adding on supplements. So thanks for watching.
