Hey guys it’s Melanie happy Friday happy first Friday of the New Year I hope you had a really fantastic first week of 2024 um I am totally continuing my weekly Beauty chitchat series here in 2024 I’m not giving this video up honestly this is one of the like easiest
Videos for me to film cuz it just feels so natural for some reason um but it just it’s one of those videos that allows me to kind of reflect on what I have think about what I’m really using what I’m reaching for and I just I love
Sharing that so um I have so appreciated all of you who have stuck around for this series I know it’s not necessarily like the most like topical kind of content here on YouTube but one thing that I really appreciate about this particular video is that it does does
Almost in a way encourage me to kind of use what I already have and almost ReDiscover those things on a weekly basis and then continue to share my love of things that well I’ve blown my own money on so um yeah I just this is just a great opportunity for me to truly
Share what what I’m currently enjoying so those of you that have watched these videos that will continue to watch these videos just know how much I appreciate you just you being here on my channel period is something that is really um it’s not lost on me that that is quite
Special because there’s a there’s a million people here on YouTube uploading every single day right like the fact that my videos get any views is still astounding to me even after 10 plus years of doing this it just like I I love YouTube as a platform
It has changed a lot over the years um and I continue to see like changes and everything is evolving and part of me is still kind of stuck like in the olden days of YouTube with like the long form content and I know a lot of people don’t
Have the patience for that anymore but it’s honestly what I enjoy watching the most still and um so that’s definitely the content that I will continue to be doing myself here just because again it’s what I enjoy so anyway you guys we’re we’re sticking with the weekly

Still trying to do a good job of filling out the description box that was something I sucked at when I first started here on YouTube but it is one of the things that I feel like I’m still still kind of doing well on so all right
You guys let’s dig into it and we’re going to start with the huge perfume still a summer for the fragrances so I have a little combo for you guys today and it is um the Ariana Grande Cloud for some reason um I I I know why I like
This it reminds me of the backarat Rouge 540 but um This Cloud perfume is a slightly sweeter version of the backarat Rouge 540 which I actually quite enjoy I love the original I love a lot of the other dupes that I’ve had um and this one here is a definite
Like there’s no way she wasn’t inspired by that fragrance when she created this but man it it just works really well with my uh with my body chemistry and and this is fabulous this is actually my second bottle the first one that I purchased I think was the 1 oz size and
I flew through that like it was water basically um so when I repurchased it I just went for the biggest size which I think this is like the 3.4 flu oun is it yep 3.4 fluid ounces I think this is only 65 bucks so it’s actually a pretty
Decent price point for a fragrance of this size I find the lasting power of this to be pretty darn great the projection is decent um it’s just a great scent and if you like that bearat Rouge 540 Vibe still like I do I can’t believe that that like fragrance still
Is like as popular as it is but it it’s popular for a reason it’s a great scent but anyway this here combined with the soul de Janeiro um I think I’m going to butcher this is it Bea be b b floor elastic cream um listen this
You guys this is that backarat Rouge 540 cent in a body cream now I actually bought this a while ago and just have had it sitting in my closet over here cuz I I have a lot of body creams open at any given time um this one here I was
Kind of waiting to pull into the bathroom until I finished a couple of other things and oh man this is fabulous um when I apply this on my skin like first getting out of the shower first of all when I apply this after getting out of the shower it spreads a
Lot more easily I feel like when your skin is damp it’s much more accepting of lotions creams um oils things like that um and this one here just spreads so easily over damp skin and it’s so hydrating this is so hydrating you guys um now I really like this sprayed over
Top because the two fragrances are so similar they’re a great combination but what I really appreciate is that this actually helps this fragrance be a lot more intense um and a lot more long lasting on my skin so if you’re not familiar um moisturized skin will actually hold on to fragrance longer
Than like dry skin so one of the best things that you can do with whatever perfume you have is to get either an unscented body lotion or better yet a body lotion that is similar or in this case almost matches exactly um and putting that on first prior to putting
On your perfumes they are going to last so much longer and you’re going to get a better performance out of them like I am just I am convinced of that now it took me a long time to kind of realize that but moisturize your skin what a difference this combo here is delightful
And even though I’m still kind of in the mood for slightly heavier fragrances I was enjoying this kind of lighter fragrance this week so love that combo would recommend couple of hair recommendations from this week first of all this is the KRA design spray light
Hold hair spray um I have fallen in love with like almost every single Kenra styling product that I’ve ever used I really think that Kenra is like the The Styling line for me um their shampoos and condition iers don’t really draw me in to be totally honest but their
Styling products are incredible on my gray cuz it’s it’s naturally gray if you’re new here I I do have gray hair I don’t color it this way this is just my bad genetics that’s what this is um I went gray very early in life but um I
Really like how this styling line works with my naturally gray fine thin hair um never weighs my hair down and in fact this hairspray I think is kind of a fantastic almost like volumizing type product has a really nice fine so I’ll show you guys the Mist do you see that
Nice fine Mist but like it doesn’t make my hair crunchy or dry and it totally allows me to get like a little bit more like oomph into my hair and it’s not sticky at all like and again my hair still moves like it it’s not like it’s
Stiff I hate stiff like um super high hold hairsprays this is so light and it also has man canra products smell good I’m sorry I know you’re not supposed to judge products based on their fragrance but I am a sucker for smell and if something works really well but it
Doesn’t smell good I’m not going to reach for it this smells really good and it works like a freaking champ so I’ll probably repurchase that um that that’s a great hairspray they do have like higher hold options as well if you need a high hold hairspray Kenra has you
Covered but that light one I think is great it’s just like an everyday kind of volumizing product speaking of volumizing or rather thickening um since I finished my first scalp serum from Bosley MD I have started incorporating this product from them this is the Bosley MD by the way Bosley is
Crueltyfree which that’s important to me um this is their revive non-color treated I also think they have a color treated option um thickening treatment and this is this is kind of an interesting product so you’re supposed to use this on like the thinning parts of your scalp where your
Hair is thinning my hair loss was quite diffuse when I started losing my hair because of my anemia and my hormonal changes and um so for me I what I do is you’re supposed to kind of apply this directly to like your thin areas so basically just like pump it into the uh
Into the scalp basically and then you know massage it in what I do is I just put a few pumps in the palm of my hand and then I really just massage that into my scalp and having it like in the palm of my hand I think allows me to get a
More even distribution without using like a ton of the product if that makes sense um but this really actually helps to thicken my hair um it almost acts as like a mousse I do still use my mousse uh my Kenra Platinum thickening mousse in addition to this but this also helps
To give a little bit more J to the hair so this also has their uh I don’t know if this is patented but I’m calling it their patented um DHT three blockers in it I’m actually taking the Bosley DHT blockers internally as well they have supplements and so I purchased some of
Those um I’m using that in conjunction with my complete skin restore from City Beauty which are my hair growth vitamins that I really love um but if you are struggling with hair loss check out Bosley MD you can find these products at your local Ulta um they’re a little bit
More spendy but I’m finding them to be quite effective so totally worth it if you’re willing to like take the plunge and try them out I think all right skin care um I am on such a vitamin C kick right now I have multiple vitamin C
Products going in my bathroom um but one of the ones that I I am reaching for quite frequently because I love the brightening that I get from this one it’s the Polish Choice of course it’s Polish Choice I love Polish Choice that was where I started my skincare journey
And it just still love their products but this is their boost C15 Super Booster um this has a 15% vitamin C with vitamin E and ferulic acid so this is one of the ones where you know it kind of um is starting to go bad when you get
That weird almost like hot dog juice scent from it mine has not gone bad um it’s still that beautiful kind of amber color that you want with vitamin C but if you have found that your vitamin C products have gotten really dark and they kind of smell like and I’m not like
Exaggerating if they kind of smell like hot dog water or what I like to call Hot Dog juice um your vitamin C has probably turned so um don’t buy an open a ton of vitamin C products um but this one here is fabulous you guys I feel like it’s a
Little bit nourishing to my skin because of the vitamin E that’s in here but as soon as I put this on in the morning I feel like it just brightens my face up I don’t know what it is about vitamin C some people don’t see any like positive
Effects from it at all but there are some people like me who just get this really great brightening I don’t actually find that vitamin C helps me with like hyperpigmentation there’s um trans Amic acid and I think actually aoic acid are a little bit better at treating hyperpigment ation for me but the
Brightening that I get to my skin it’s fabulous I love this and you just need like a few drops I press it into my skin and um I can use it in the morning it doesn’t interfere with my makeup it doesn’t make my skin feel oily or greasy
It’s just fantastic love it I love polist chice in general though all right let’s talk um a few makeup items so first of all um I need to finish using this so I’ve been using it this week you guys know that my favorite setting spray right now is the milk uh makeup pore
Eclipse setting spray just fabulous for my oily skin um I bought this one a while ago and I do like this setting spray it’s the Charlotte Tilbury uh airbrush Flawless finishing spray party all night stay all day um I’m not really looking to party all night anymore but I
Certainly do like prolonging the wear of my makeup into the day I like not having to look in the mirror and feel like I need to blot or like fix things um and this really does keep your makeup in place for longer throughout the day for
Sure um this is not as good at like combating my oil production but it doesn’t claim to do that so I’m not looking for it to do that but in terms of making everything um bright vibrant keeps things from fading creasing all of that fun Jazz uh this is great um I find
The Mist to be not the finest so I do hold it a little bit further away from my face when I’m spraying it but it’s a good setting spray and if you like Charlotte Tilbury and this is one of the things that you’ve never tried from her
I actually really like this product a lot I will say those fragrance phobes out there and you know who you are you’re going to hate this it is had it has quite a strong scent to it um doesn’t bother me but I know people who are not into fragrance are going to like
You’re not going to love this so but if you don’t care about that fragrance being added into the formula it it really does help my makeup stay put further into the day so that’s good stuff all right eyes shadow palette this week it actually came from one of my
Recommendations uh from my like best of 2023 um it’s the colourpop that’s taupe by the way um I will link the favorites from 2023 that have gone up this week so far in the description box down below so if they didn’t show up in your subscription feed or you just missed
Them um I have been kind of focusing this first part of the new year just talking about favorites from last year this was in the makeup video um as was the I need a nude palette from Natasha denona but this is a great affordable option here you guys um this is
Colourpop that’s taupe I don’t have a ton of colourpop eyeshadows and I I don’t think that they’re the best in terms of like wearing like long into the day at least for me um they do tend to fade a little bit faster but with the price point um and if you’re just
Looking for like some average wear out of eyeshadow these are great um this particular palette size I think is right around $14 but they also have like their big like Mega palettes that are I think $35 um so great price point this one here is a great neutral palette in fact
It has a lot of similarities with the Natasha denona I need a nude palette which is sorry she’s not going to focus is she um which is um probably why I enjoy this one so much but yeah if you don’t own this one and you’re in the
Market for a new eyeshadow palette and you don’t want to splurge on something expensive check out these colourpop palettes even if this color story doesn’t speak to you I’m if you like warm eyeshadows they have a boatload of warm eyeshadow palettes but I like this more kind of neutral cool toned one that
This speaks to me but there’s options for those of you who like warm tones and even options out there for people that like color they also have a lot of fun like colorful palettes as well so but that is definitely that’s a great one
You guys and it’s what I have on my eyes today so just really pretty natural everyday makeup look right I like it makes me happy okay mascara I I love this one I feel like this is one mascara here on YouTube that does not get the love that it really deserves it’s the
Just the Buxom lash mascara black as black is the color um it has this plastic bristle wand which I actually don’t love I love the natural bristle wands but I get the most delightful just natural everyday volume from this um it separates my lashes so beautifully this is the only mascara
That I have on my eyes today I even used it on my lower lashes um it stays put all day it does not smudge it does not flake it does not transfer it’s never irritated my eyes I think this is available in a waterproof formulation but I don’t need that personally so um
But this is great this is a really really good mascara if you are thinking about trying some different um mascaras this year if you want to Branch out from your yuge this is one that I would highly recommend if you like a nice voluminous separated more natural
Voluminous look to your lashes there we go and and then on my lips so I’ve still been doing the colourpop Lippy pencil in oh snap um feel like I can’t give that lip pencil up um and then also the Nyx uh that’s milky gloss in U milkshake
Love that combo but also um I’ve just been wearing this on my lips um without anything else this is the indeed Labs hyon is it hyon yeah hyaluron plus volumizing lip treatment I don’t need any volumizing on my lips and I don’t know that this even would volumize lips
Per se but I will say it’s a really nice hydrating lip balm and very nourishing not overly sticky or gummy feeling on the lips actually nice and thin and it stays put for a really long time I think that’s what I appreciate about this one this is another one that I have Stella
Coming in here and using quite a bit she loves the city lips night oil from City Beauty but she also really likes this one um so yeah it doesn’t give her a Plumping effect on her lips obviously my 11-year-old daughter does not have lip filler like I do um but yeah like I
Don’t find that this plumps her lips and this doesn’t give you that like tingling feeling or anything like that there’s no like cinnamon oil or anything like that in here but it’s just a really great lip balm that seems to hydrate really nicely without being being too thick or gloopy
On the lips so it’s good stuff I like this I think I bought this at where’s where did I get this Ulta Ulta carries indeed labs and I don’t it’s not terribly expensive so it’s worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new lip balm and you don’t want to
Spend the exorbitant price point I will admit the city Beauty City lips night oil is is spendy it is spendy if you don’t want to spend that but you’re still looking for something to hydrate your dry cracked winter lips give this one the old College try she’s good all
