While COVID-19 cases have decreased or remained stable nationally over the past few months, experts expect the number of cases to rise in the fall and winter.
The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) has said there will be updated COVID-19 boosters targeting the latest variants in the fall, but so far Health Canada has not said when they will be available to Canadians.
Experts say more guidance is needed so that Canadians can make the best decision for their health.
“I do understand this is not 2020. Having said that, I think we’re getting an incredible lack of clarity as to what should occur,” says bioethicist Kerry Bowman.
As Nathaniel Dove reports, experts are urging Canadians who can afford to wait to do so.
