Fresh food is often picked before the fruit or vegetable is ripe and then packaged, shipped, and stocked before it comes to the market. It happens weeks before the food reaches to your plate and during that time, the food might have loses some of its nutrients. On the other hand the Frozen food, is harvested at peak ripeness and flash frozen within hours of picking. This locks in its nutrients, which sometimes makes frozen produce more nutritious than fresh. In a study, nutrition of fresh and frozen food was checked at the time of purchase and five days later. On the day of purchase, both frozen and fresh food found similar in nutrition, but after five days in the fridge it was found that, the fresh product had less vitamin A, vitamin C, and folate than the frozen once.
