60% of Singapore residents likely had COVID, but this does not mean herd immunity: Ong Ye Kung

According to Health Ministry estimates, three in five people in Singapore have been infected with COVID-19. But that still doesn’t give the country herd immunity, as the virus mutates. Data has also shown that protection with three doses of mRNA vaccines remains strong in preventing serious illness among the elderly. Children aged five to 11 may soon get their booster shots. The Health Sciences Authority has also granted interim approval for AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 antibody drug, Evusheld. It is available for adults who are not eligible for COVID-19 vaccination.
