Our current situation is no joke and I know a lot of people are struggling with lack of motivation and feeling lethargic. Whenever I can I try to take a little moment out of my day to do something for my mental health and I thought I would share it with you.

Now I know that I am fortunate enough to live in an area not densely populated and close to nature so I can go outside every day but I haven’t been anywhere near any people in close to 1 month and it’s driving me nuts!

THINGS MENTIONED IN THIS VIDEO:
Walking, cycling, and working out are great for mental health. Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal.

I also used @Sarahs Day pilates workout.

Besides that, I spend a lot of time outside. There is growing evidence for a relationship between vitamin D receptors in the brain, hypovitaminosis D and abnormal executive cognitive functions, major depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

Further studies are needed to investigate the impact of vitamin D supplementation on cognition, mood disorders, and schizophrenia. Given current evidence, ensuring normal vitamin D levels may be critical for prevention and treatment in people at high risk of mental and cognitive illness and for treatment in those for whom mental illness has already been diagnosed.

I do take an extra Vitamin D pill just because I live in a rainy and gray Netherlands.

I also really enjoyed cooking. I didn’t use any particular recipe just my own tastebuds and whatever we had in the kitchen but the recipe was loosely based on this recipe.

I also really enjoyed being creative again, not only painting but also having some “art” to bring some color and happiness into my study space. It still hangs there and I still love it so so much.

The song I was listening to when I was hanging the artwork was solars new song spit it out! It was so good I was dancing along.

Talking about dancing and singing along doing an intense skincare routine and putting on some make-up and my nice “Sunday” clothes made me feel a lot better at well.
