Omicron cases are exploding around the world, but experts believe that spike could quickly burn itself out.
The variant has indeed spread quickly and exponentially and the risk of overwhelming our health care system is real. However, as more Canadians acquire the variant, get over it and see the benefits of booster vaccines, it could result in a wall of immunity that we have not produced up to now.
As Eric Sorensen explains, some scientists believe this variant can help downgrade the pandemic to an endemic.
