After getting vaccinated for COVID-19, Toronto’s Jana Singer learned she’d caught COVID-19 while vacationing in Mexico. Her symptoms were mild, a trend medical experts have noticed among vaccinated patients.

The so-called “breakthrough cases” are still relatively rare, making up only a small number of the overall cases across the country and even less when it comes to people in hospital confirmed to have COVID-19. But some experts are still cautioning that the Delta variant could see cases of COVID-19 among those fully vaccinated rise.
