A medium sized banana, 7 to 8 inches long provides 105 calories, 0.4g of fat, 27g of carbs, 1.3g of protein, 3.1g of fiber and 14.4g of sugar. Bananas are high in vitamin c, and vitamin b6, (providing 17%of RDA, 22% of b6). they are also high in potassium and manganese.

Bananas can have a positive effect on cardiovascular health because of their potassium content. Potassium helps maintain normal blood pressure and heart function. Bananas also help with digestion because of their fiber content.

Since bananas are high in vitamin b6, they can help with the production of red blood cells. They also contain tryptophan, which plays a role in boosting your mood.
