When individuals are infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19, they develop antibodies after a few weeks, says WHO’s Dr Maria Van Kerkhove. All those who have even severe disease, mild disease and even asymptomatic infection do have these antibodies, she explains. Studies are underway to understand how long these antibodies last.
