How can we find new drugs to treat COVID-19? – Crick coronavirus (COVID-19) research

Drugs that have already been approved as treatments for other diseases could be effective treatments for COVID-19. We want to find out which drugs might work as quickly as possible. Hear from researchers in our Chromosome Replication Laboratory, who have been testing thousands of drugs against SARS-CoV-2 using a biochemical test.

This is part of our research looking at how the virus interacts with our cells and could help identify options (including drugs and antibodies) that might block the virus entering cells, or limit its ability to replicate once inside the cell.
