If you’re too heavy and know you need to work out but just can’t make it happen, a boost of vitamin C may help you out.

New research from the University of Colorado, Boulder, found that taking a vitamin C supplement may have some similar heart-health benefits to regular exercise in obese and overweight adults.

This study focused on the endothelin (ET-1) protein. ET-1 is responsible for constricting blood vessels, which reduces blood flow and increases the risk of heart disease. Levels of this protein are raised in people who are obese or overweight.
