We are all familiar with social distancing, mask wearing, hand washing and avoiding large gatherings, but did you know that there is actually more that you can do to avoid COVID? Hi, I’m Pamela Christian with Abundant Health Group and I’m going to share with you proven ways to get your immune system back on track and why it’s so important for you now and in the future.

A majority of Americans have compromised immune systems. In some cases, this is because of immuno-suppressant drugs and therapies to treat cancers, organ transplants and auto-immune diseases. But in most cases, it is from recurring exposure to certain foods, toxins, antacids and stress that cause our immune systems to work overtime, all the time, leading to chronic inflammation.

Your immune system protects you from a world of invaders: from viruses, bacteria and parasites, to things like splinters and even cancer cells. When your immune system is healthy, it can quickly and efficiently recognize, fight and eliminate the things that aren’t good for you. But when it’s not, you’re much more susceptible to disease – either from the virus itself, in the case of COVID for example, or from your own immune system’s overreaction to the virus.

Restoring our immune system is critical to our wellbeing. Auto-immune disease, allergies and frequent illness and infections are all signs of a compromised immune system. With COVID, a healthy immune system is key to helping you be less sick if you get the virus and heal better from post-COVID effects. But restoring your immune system is also important ahead of getting vaccinated – because you want your immune system to produce a healthy and large number of targeted antibodies against the virus for long-lasting immunity.
