A group of medical professionals and academics have called on the government to allow people who are less vulnerable to the effects of Covid-19 to return to normal life.
Professor David Livermore, who signed the so-called Great Barrington declaration, told talkRADIO’s Ian Collins that lockdowns were causing “massive economic damage and massive damage to the very social fabric of society”.
However, epidemiologist Dr Deepti Gurdasani argued that the declaration is “based on pseudoscience” and “gives a platform to very fringe views”.
