What They Are Not Telling You About Vitamin C & D, and the Mineral Zinc

For those of you that are taking Vitamins C and D, and the mineral Zinc, what you eat is equally as important as the supplements you take. Case in point, Vitamin D (hormone) is fat soluble and that means it is best absorbed when taken with food that has healthy fats. When it comes to Zinc, it’s best absorbed when taken with food that is rich in polyphenols (this molecule contributes to the colors you see in the red and orange bell peppers). Polyphenols are also found in berries, chocolate, and the coffee/tea to name a few. I also added honey to my coffee, which makes it taste yummy, and the honey is rich in many health benefits. And the fruits and veggies contribute to my Vitamin C for the day. And, side note, the mushrooms are rich in Vitamin D. And before I forget, I panfried my omelet with EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL, which is also rich in polyphenols!!!

With the DIET FREE LIFE, this dish example is a fat burning meal. The eggs make for my protein, the veggies and strawberries make up my Slow Carb portion, and the cheese and avocado makes for my fat portion.

The so-called experts are telling you to take these supplements without also teaching you how to eat to maximize their absorption. If your nutrition is off, you can take practically all the supplements you want and most likely, Vitamin D and Zinc aren’t being absorbed.
